Queen Candidates
Abigail Taylor
Abby Taylor is a Junior at Jennings County High School where she is an honor roll student and has a Chapter FFA degree. The daughter of Bryan and Tiffany Taylor, Abby participates in 4-H, Parks and Rec Softball, and Best Buddies where she is the Vice President. When asked why she wanted to participate in this contest Abby said, “I chose to participate because Hospice has been something that has related close to my family. My papaw and great grandma both used this amazing organization. I also work closely with residents at the nursing home with people who use or used it. I think this is a great cause to raise money for.
Camden Mays
Camden Mays is a junior at Jennings County High School where she is the secretary of the student council and participates in JCHS Cheerleading. She is the daughter of Amanda Lawson, Jacob Lawson, Charles Mays and Lindsey Mays. When asked why she wanted to participate in this contest Camden said, “I chose to participate as a contestant to help give to people in need. I’d love to help in any way possible, even if it’s not much. Everyone deserves kindness and compassion in their final days. It makes me happy to be able to give back to the community.”
Emma Clapp
Emma Clapp is a Senior at Jennings County High School where she is an honor student and National Honor Society member. Daughter of Matthew Clapp and Amanda Wilson, Emma participates in travel softball and high school softball. When asked why she wanted to participate in this contest Emma said, “This September I lost my Papaw Meade ultimately to dementia. Hospice was such a huge help to both him and my family and I am forever grateful for that.”
Hailey Whitehead
Hailey Whitehead is a Junior at Jennings County High School where she participates in JCHS Cheer, Student Council and is on the National Honors Society. Hailey is the daughter of Sandy and Skylar Whitehead. When asked why she wanted to participate in this contest, Hailey said “I chose to participate as a queen contestant because hospice plays an important role in helping families feel supported during some of their hardest moments and being part of this event allows me to contribute to that mission. I want to use this event to raise awareness and encourage others to give back.”
Katherine Brunner
Katherine Brunner is a Senior at Jennings County High School. The daughter of Amie and Michael Brunner; Katherine participates in FFA, wrestling, Youth Group, soccer and is a Certified Nursing Assistant. When asked why she wanted to participate in this contest Katherine said: “I am a CNA and see families dealing with complications firsthand. I want this money to go towards families who need this care and take away their financial burden. My great grandmother also passed with hospice taking care of her.”
Lillian Curry
Lillian Curry is a Junior at Jennings County High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society. Daughter of Nicole Carter and Ryan Curry, Lillian participates in JCHS Cheerleading and JCHS Student Council. When asked why she wanted to participate in this contest Lillian said, “I chose to participate as a queen contestant because I have seen the amazing work of Hospice firsthand when my grandma and family needed their assistance. I want other families to be able to have the same love, care, and support that Hospice provides.
