40th Our Hospice Concert Sept. 5th Labor Day Weekend – Free Concert returns Downtown to Library Steps

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[Columbus, Indiana] February 26, 2026 – The 40th Annual Our Hospice Concert will take place Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bartholomew County Public Library steps in downtown Columbus, where the concert began in 1987.

While Our Hospice has served the community since 1980, the concert tradition started 40 years ago to bring neighbors together to learn about hospice care in support of our mission to Make Every Moment Count. This 40th milestone year returns the event to its original downtown setting for a free, outdoor community event honoring the past and building the future.

The 2026 Title Sponsor is Dunlap General & Mechanical Contractors, whose continued support helps ensure the event remains accessible to the entire community.

“This 40th year of Our Hospice Concert is about honoring the past and building the future,” said Steph Cain, President of Our Hospice. “For 46 years, Our Hospice has supported patients and their loved ones during life’s most difficult moments. Returning to the library steps where the very first concert took place, is a wonderful way to gather the community to Make Every Moment Count, the mission of Our Hospice. We are grateful to Dunlap General and Mechanical Contractors, once again serving as our Title Sponsor to make this community tradition possible. We are also thankful to the Bartholomew County Public Library for partnering with us again as we return to the place where this tradition began.”

This year’s music features our local favorites, 40 Years of College and 3 Beards Strumming. Local food and beverage vendors will be available on site. The concert will begin in the afternoon at 4:00pm. Bring the family to enjoy all the downtown festivities.

The annual concert is both a fundraiser and an opportunity to educate the community about hospice and the full family of services provided by Our Hospice, including palliative care, personal care, and grief support.

As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, a student poster design contest is open to all 9th–12th grade students in Bartholomew County. Design kits and submission details are available at ourhospice.org/concert. Submissions are due by Wednesday, March 25. The selected winner will receive a band-signed concert poster, an exclusive swag package, reserved seating at the event, and a $500 scholarship to be applied toward college or trade school expenses.

Raffle tickets will be available again this year for $10 each for a chance to win $10,000. The drawing will take place during the concert, and participants do not need to be present to win.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels for businesses and community partners who want to support this long-standing tradition. For more information, contact Tabitha Saltzman at 812.662.3194 or [email protected].
